It encourages the development of new theories, concepts and methods of studying Hong Kong and its relations with China, Asia and beyond. Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA) is the annual recognition of a selection of outstanding films produced in and/or commercially released in Hong Kong. The nomination and selection process is overseen by a distinguished panel of judges composed of leading academics, industry professionals and experts from the community. The HKFA recognises both local and international films, and provides an opportunity for the broader public to explore Asian cinema in greater depth.
The HKFA’s prizes, ranging from the 1st to the 4th division, are awarded based on votes by the public, with the 5th division prize being decided by a panel of professional judges. The winning film will be screened at the Goethe-Institut Hongkong in November and at Black Box Studio in December, and its director will be honoured with an engraved gold medal.

The 2024 winners of the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize, whose breakthroughs will benefit the economy of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, were announced on Monday. The five awardees are making progress in artificial intelligence and robotics, life science and medicine, new materials and energy, and innovative data and AI security technologies.
This prize was established in 2007 to commemorate George B. Endacott, Lecturer (1946-57) and Senior Lecturer (from 1957-62) in the Department of History at CUHK. He did much to re-establish the Department of History as one of the principal teaching and research units in the Faculty of Arts during the 1950s. The Prize seeks to perpetuate the memory of a dedicated teacher and scholar.
